ROXPHERE, an ‘energetic indie pop/rock blend with a mix of R&B twin brother-duo from Pretoria’, have released their debut single GOOD ENOUGH.
But who are they?
I asked them 5 quick questions to delve into what makes this music duo tick!
- Where does the name Roxphere come from?
Roxphere, Founded on April, 2012. Comes from a Latin origin which means “To unite the world in a unique way”. It has grown with us over the years and represents our music and understanding of music.
- As twins, do you find it easy to work with each, especially when writing songs – do you guys finish each other’s ….. sandwiches? 🙂
It is a pleasure working together be it performances, writing and/or producing. We do have an in sync connection when it comes to creating. Which makes it fun to experiment with different angles. We also make killer sandwiches!
- Why did you decide to release GOOD ENOUGH as your first single?
“Good enough” is the first part of our album where we will take you and ourselves through a journey of self discovery. It is the simplicity of being good enough in which ever way you desire.
- With your up and coming album – can you give us a teaser of what to expect; the inspiration behind the album…?
When we initially started the idea of the album we knew we had to put 100% passion, dedication and soul into every song we create. It is more than just an album to us. It comes from personal experiences throughout our lives and is the expression of who we are as Roxphere.
- What music (international or local) are you guys listening to at the moment?
At the moment we’re listening to some Blink 182, Galantis, Greenday, James Bay, The Weeknd, Micheal Jackson, Twenty-One Pilots, Rosez, The Chainsmokers and so many more. We are constantly listening & finding new music daily. The world has so much to offer and especially South Africa where we have seen and performed with astounding up and coming artists.
