MIRTH AND MUSIC AT RENDEZVOUS AT THE STATE THEATRE
Audiences are in for a real treat this month at the South African State Theatre (SAST) in Pretoria with full on entertainment.
SAST in association with TMI will proudly present Jazz and African Music Nights featuring some of South Africa’s most prolific musicians including: Renowned jazz artists Wanda Baloyi and Mathunzi Macdonald on 13 May; the highly talented duo Dave & Pops and Gally Ngoveni on 20 May; and ending with jazz greats The Zenzi Lee Makeba Band Trio and Mandla Ntlaks on 27 May. The performances will begin at 8pm on the respective evenings.
“We are thrilled to be hosting such talent in the Rendezvous Theatre which has seen many a famous musician and performer grace its stage,” says The South African State Theatre’s Artistic Director Aubrey Sekhabi. “The jazz musicians performing on this bill are all brilliant in their own right; each one providing award-winning sounds that are indicative of the African music scene. Music lovers and especially of the jazz variety are in for a memorable evening or three.”
