During the COVID pandemic the Market Theatre curated and endorsed online content to create opportunities for Playwrights and Performers alike.
The past two years were dark times for the industry and the Ditshomo Story time season was a beacon of light and entertainment during this period.

“We are completely committed to the idea that sees us programming and staying in touch with our patrons and at the same time celebrating those who have always gifted us with stories to tell. It also presents an opportunity for our work to be accessible to global audiences.”, said James Ngcobo, Artistic Director of the Market Theatre Foundation two years ago when speaking about the Ditshomo program.

Ditshomo stories will now be exhibited at our venues for our patrons to enjoy at our facilities.

To launch LAST THURSDAYS we will premiere DIAPARO TSA MAMA Written and Directed by RORISANG MOTUBA.
The exhibitions will be followed by an after-party with LIVE performances by the likes of ROX PAPERZ SCISSORS! BLK JKS! KOMPILATIONS! and MARIA MCCLOY!
