The Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble’s Annual Linder Concert is taking place on Sunday 19th July at 3:00PM

Once again, our programme features some fabulous music not often heard on the stage of the Linder, opening with a musical flourish by the Buskaid musicians’ favourite baroque composer, Rameau; you’ll also enjoy a unique performance of Mozart’s Serenata Notturno, with four closely related soloists from the Mphela and Boikanyo families.

The centrepiece of the concert, Bruch’s deeply moving Kol Nidrei, will be performed by Koketso Mphela, with South Africa’s premier harpist, Gaylen Sales, joining the orchestra for both Kol Nidrei and Elgar’s haunting Sospiri.
Not to mention Telemann’s funky Grillen Symphonie, starring Buskaid’s two virtuoso solo double bass players!
And finally, don’t miss Buskaid’s heartfelt renditions of a selection of Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes, and the haunting Impromptu by Jean Sibelius.

As in all Buskaid concerts, lighter ‘pop’ songs will round off the classical programme, followed by Buskaid’s signature Afro-pop, Afro-jazz and Kwela.

A light lunch at Café 27 Degrees will set you up for a heartwarming afternoon of pure joy.
