Starring an incredibly talented award-winning duo – Bianca Flanders (West Side Story, Troukoors, District 6 The Musical) and her actor husband Dean Balie (Kat and the Kings, Nêrens Noordkaap, Blood Brothers), Pumpkin Finds Her Kindness – The Play showcases their exceptional acting skills and musical prowess. Balie also composed the original music and the two bring the beloved characters to life in the most delightful of ways, ensuring an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike.
Based on Bianca’s beloved children’s book series, Pumpkin Finds Her Kindness – The Play tells the tale of little Pumpkin as she grapples with jealousy and envy after losing a competition. Determined to conquer her ‘confused and green-eyed monster’ and she calls it, Pumpkin sets off on an exhilarating adventure guided by her wise Ouma and her faithful friend, Toots the Cat.
The show is alive with vibrant characters and imaginative sets, transporting audiences into Pumpkin’s world of self-discovery. Through laughter, heartwarming moments and a touch of magic, Pumpkin soon realises that her kindness lies within her and that she possesses the extraordinary ability to transform her situation.

Performances take place at the Artscape Arena from 15 to 23 December 2023. Performances run to forty minutes, with shows at 10h30 and 12h15 and tickets costing R120 through Webtickets.
