Johnny Cradle’s self-titled debut album shows off the trio’s knack for deep haunting back beats, landscape guitar lines, bullying Moog infused bass lines and socially conscious manifestos. Taut and lean Cradle’s debut boasts a collection of songs that are cerebral as much as they are dance-able.
Johnny Cradle hail from Johannesburg, South Africa. With roots from the Eastern Cape and Ga-Rankuwa in Gauteng these 80’s kids show off a diverse influence behind their township slang Xhosa/ English lyrics.
Band members include Tebogo J Mosane on drums and backing vocals, Lazola (Laz) Ndamase on turntables and sampler and Sakumzi (Sakie) Qumana on synthesizer and vocals.
“Our music is a result of our very own life experiences. We’re not trying to be anyone other than who we are. We are not confined to any stereotypes or boxes, instead “Johnny Cradle” breaks through boundaries and borders giving you something unique, something that you’ve never experienced before”, says Sakie.
