The month of May is Africa Month and super star Kelly Khumalo wants to get the continent dancing with her new single titled “Dance Africa”, which is taken from her latest offering/album “My Truth”, which was released in 2016.
Dance Africa is an upbeat song, written and sung beautifully in ‘Pidgin’ English, where the songstress sings about making you dance and feeling good. Kelly has decided to release the song in efforts to unite the continent and remind Africans that we are more alike than different.
“We are a diverse continent that is rich in ethnicities, colour and languages, it is important for us Africans to all take pride in who we are as African individuals AND as one African community. We need to learn to celebrate each other and what we represent. Yes, we are human and we will make mistakes but, we should always aim to spread love, peace and unity, as we can achive a lot more when we work together”, the star says.
Kelly plans on highlighting the sad reality that our African brothers and sister face on a daily base through the xenophobia attacks and discrimination, and she hopes that through song and dance she will bring awareness to these issue which affect all of us. Kelly has called on her fans to help her spread love and happiness by filming a video of themselves dancing to the hit single, posting it on social networks, tagging Kelly Khumalo and adding an emoji of the flag from their respective countries.
