Theatre
3 and 4 October 19h30 | 5 October 15h00

From Theatresmiths, creators of the acclaimed Jakob as well as multiple-award winning The King Of Broken Things, comes a new offering, Weightless. Meet Bill. He’s a Mathematician, a cricket enthusiast and a War veteran who will tell you that he can hear the call of the moon and that everything has its own sound, even gravity. He will tell you too, of his endless desire to live weightless and to not be afraid of falling and how he hopes he can find his way through the pain of being different. He will tell you that the algebra of kindness is a formula; and of his wish for it to be taught in every classroom, boardroom and sports field.
The story attempts to understand Bill and others like him who are marginalised and pushed into corners purely because they are different. Weightless explores Bill’s journey, the demons that lived in him, and the spark of hope that continued to reignite despite despair’s best efforts to extinguish it.
