Madala Kunene is more than a musician—he is a storyteller whose melodies echo the soul of Africa. From his humble beginnings in Cato Manor to international acclaim, Kunene has remained true to his roots, crafting music that speaks to history, culture, and the human spirit.

For over a decade, he has mentored the boundary-pushing Sibusile Xaba, a guitarist whose unique sound blends Maskandi with avant-garde influences. Their much-anticipated collaboration will debut new compositions in a special performance at the John Kani Theatre.
